IRVING A. HUMPHREY EASTBROOK – Irving A. Humphrey, 91, died Dec. 25, 2003, at his residence. He was born in Kennebunk, Jan. 14, 1912, the son of George and Gertrude (Wallace) Humphrey. Irving owned and operated his own fishing boats. He was a longliner, dory fisherman, dragger, and a lobster fisherman. Irving was a member of the Nazarene Church for more than 60 years, he served on the church board for seven years and as an usher for 30 years. He is survived by his beloved wife of 73 years, Irene (Gilliam) Humphrey of Eastbrook; two sons, Cleveland Humphrey of Sebasco Estates, Phippsburg, Irving W. and his wife, Barbara, of Eastbrook, one daughter, Salvajean Estes, and her husband, David, of Statesville, N.C.; one sister, Christine Coffin of Sebasco Estates, Phippsburg; ten grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; several great-great-grand-children. He was predeceased by his sister, Beatrice Rush. Friends may visit with the family 9-11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 29, 2003, at the Nazarene Church, Bar Harbor Road, Ellsworth, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. with Pastor Reg Clark officiating. At Irving’s request, gifts in his memory may be made to the Church of the Nazarene, Elderly Housing Fund, 445 High St., Ellsworth, ME 04605.
