EAST SULLIVAN – Irving F. Crispo, 85, died Wednesday Dec. 17, 2003, at Togus VA Hospital after a long illness. He was born Dec. 15, 1918, in Boston, Mass., the son of John and Ellen (Peers) Crispo. He graduated from Medford High and joined the Navy after graduation and served 20 years. He served on destroyers during World War II and on the Consolation during the Korean War. He and his wife moved back to Maine in 1960. In 1962 they moved to Winter Harbor for 10 years and settled in East Sullivan. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was also an avid bingo player and racehorse fan. He will be greatly missed by his family. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret E. Day Crispo of East Sullivan; two sons, Dennis Crispo and his wife, Betty, of Plymouth, Mass., Steven Crispo and his wife, Candy, of Hope; two daughters, P. Susan Morse and her husband, Rodney, of Cherryfield and Carla Osier and her husband, Frank, of East Sullivan; 15 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his parents; three brothers, John, Paul and Harold Crispo, all of Massachusetts; two sisters, Ruth and Evelyn; also his first wife, Barbara. There will be a graveside service to be announced at a later date.
