BROOKSVILLE – Isabel Mae Condon, 98, died July 8, 2008, at Island Nursing Home, Deer Isle. She was born May 20, 1910, in North Brooksville, the daughter of Charles S. and Lena (Grey) Grindle. Isabel was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She taught school for 37 years in several towns, including Winterport, Sedgwick, Stonington and Brooksville. She was a member of Maine Teachers Association, a member of South Brooksville Methodist Church for many years serving on many committees and a member of Brooksville Historical Society. She was the proud recipient of the Boston Cane Post. Isabel was very fond of flowers and gardening. She is survived by her son, Philip Condon and wife, Martha; granddaughter, Michelle Wassink and husband, Robert, both of Brooksville; grandson, Derrick Condon and wife, Kim, of Claire, Mich.; and great-grandchildren, Ricky Limeburner and Logan Condon. She was predeceased by her husband, John R. “Dick,” in 1987. A graveside service will be held 10 a.m. Friday, July 11, at Lakeview Cemetery, Brooksville.
