HOLDEN – Ivan Roy “Buster” Booker, 97, died Feb. 3, 2008, in Orono. He was the 15th and last surviving child of Lindsey and Mabel (Libby) Booker, born June 26, 1910, in Lincoln Center. He was an artist, potter and outdoorsman. He is survived by his loving wife of 65 years, Beatrice (Hormel) Booker; son, Richard and his wife, Karin, of Tacoma, Wash.; daughter-in-law, Elaine Booker of Rockport; son, Robert and his wife, Tanya, of Swarth-more, Pa.; daughter, Nancy, and her husband, Chris Limberis, of Bangor; 10 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, with two babies on the way, and by a cast of hundreds of nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his sons, Bruce and Jon. The family wishes to thank Carol, Valerie, Jim, Nancy and Pat, all the staff at New Hope Hospice and the nurses and aides at Orono Commons for their compassion and care of Ivan in his last days. A memorial service will be held 1 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 7, at Brookings-Smith, Clark-Piper Chapel, 55 South Main St., Brewer, with the Rev. Dana Douglass, pastor of Holden Congregational Church, UCC, officiating.
