BANGOR – Jacqueline G. Hughes, 74, wife of the late Richard Hughes, died unexpectedly March 14, 2008, surrounded by her loving family at a local hospital. She was born Feb. 26, 1934, in Bangor, the daughter of Joe Butera and Madeline (McGinley) Batchelder. Her life was her children and grandchildren. She is survived by three sons, Richard Hughes Jr. and his wife, Denise, of Bangor, Daniel Hughes Sr. and his wife, Jennifer, of Eddington and Tommy Hughes of Bangor; two daughters and their husbands, Cathy and Bill French of Eddington and Lisa and Richard Russell of Bangor; one sister, Marie Baines of Bangor; 12 grandchildren, Renee, Ricky and June, Danny and Erica, Andrew and Cortney, Adam, Michelle and Jeff, Billy, Matthew, Ryan, Jeremy, Cameron and Logan; four great-grand-children, Dylan, Makayla, Austin and Emma; a dear family friend, Bob Bouchard of Bangor; and many special cousins. In addition to her parents and husband, she was predeceased by her daughter, Dianne; and her grandson, Michael. The family wishes to extend thanks to three personal nurses, Kim, Michelle and Jenny. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Monday, March 17, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor, with the Rev. Roland Nadeau, Catholic chaplain at St. Joseph Hospital, celebrant. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments at Jackies’ home immediately after the service. Spring interment will be at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
