CANAAN – Jacqueline (Michaud) Holmes, 51, wife of Elmer Holmes, passed away peacefully Sept. 24, 2007, surrounded by her loving family at her home, after a severe and courageous battle with cancer and a debilitating stroke. Born in Saint-Leonard-Parent, New Brunswick, in 1956, she was a daughter of the late Elias and Monique (Cyr) Michaud. Jaqueline worked many years with McCain Foods Limited, Grand Falls, New Brunswick, and Easton, and later with a food processing plant in Fort Fairfield. Prior to a forced retirement due to illness, she worked at Central Maine Chrysler, Waterville. She is survived by her husband; her daughter, Sarah Monique Campbell of Portland; stepson, Bryon Holmes of Watertown, N.Y.; sister, Lorraine Michaud and partner, Real Parent; and brother, Jean-Marc Michaud and wife, Francine, of Drummond, New Brunswick; nieces and nephews, including Luc and Rodrigue; and godson, Damien Michaud. Resting with visiting hours will be held 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday and 12:30-2 p.m. Thursday at O’Regan’s Funeral Home, 515 Everard Daigle Blvd., Grand Falls, New Brunswick. Her funeral will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27, at Assumption Roman Catholic Church, Grand Falls, New Brunswick, with interment at Saint-Georges Cemetery.
