WATERVILLE and BULLHEAD CITY, Ariz. – Jacqueline Vernette Hill, 79, passed away peacefully July 23, 2008, surrounded by her loving family, at a Bangor hospital. Jacqueline was born May 21, 1929, in Deer Isle, to Albert and Estelle (Small) Nevells. Jacqueline grew up on Deer Isle before moving to the Bangor area to start her family. Jackie was an exceptional homemaker, and enjoyed raising her family. Jackie had a love for the home, and took great pride in many redecorating projects. Once her children had grown up, Jackie owned and operated a ladies boutique in Waterville for a number of years. In later years she enjoyed traveling with her husband, back and forth from Maine to Arizona, where they enjoyed many site-seeing trips, bingo, beano, cribbage and most importantly, spending time with her family. Jackie is remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend to all. Jacqueline is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Lloyd D. Hill of Bullhead City, Ariz.; one son, Steven and wife, Susan, of Augusta; one daughter, Estelle Harriman and husband, Richard, of Glenburn; three grandchildren, Stacy West and husband, Bill, of Bangor, Rhonda Seavey of Belfast and Kenneth Hill of Augusta; four great-grandchildren, Ashley Tyler, Christopher Seavey and Sara and Austin West; two brothers, James Nevells and wife, Carol, of Florida and Melvell Nevells and wife, Nancy, of Gorham; sisters-in-law and brother-in-law, Roberta Grant of Oregon, Cybil Gurney of California and Basil Knowlton of California; two very special friends, Joan Elmore and Nancy and Wayne Flynn, all of Arizonia; as well as several cousins, nieces and nephews. Jacqueline was predeceased by her parents, Albert and Estelle Nevells; and two sisters, Pauline Herman and Loraine Richards. In keeping with Jackie’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel. Arrangements entrusted to Hampden-Gilpatrick Funeral Home, 45 Western Ave., Hampden.
