BAR HARBOR – James A. Wentworth, 74, died Jan. 27, 2005, at Maine Coast Memorial Hospital. He was born March 25, 1930, in West Tremont, the son of Alonzo Roy and Carolyn Lois (Pomroy) Wentworth. James served in the Navy for nine years during the Korean War. He was a barber for 17 years in West Hartford, Conn., and he worked as a supervisor for Aetna Insurance for 10 years. James enjoyed puttering and working around his home, mowing and cutting trees. He spent the last 14 winters in the West, Arizona and Southern California. He is survived by his beloved wife of 51 years, Nancy (Patrick) Wentworth; his son, David Wentworth and his wife, Lori, of Windsor Locks, Conn.; one daughter, Nancy Hawk of Wytheville, Va.; and one step-daughter, Anneli Myers of Brownsville, Tenn.; two brothers; Allan “Pud” Wentworth of Bar Harbor and Malcolm Wentworth and his wife, Paula, of Virginia; seven grandchildren; Jeffrey Hawk of Norwich, Conn., Jim Hawk of Germany, Carolyn Hawk of Galveston, Texas, Vivian Hawk of Germany, A.J. Hawk of Wytheville, Va., Josh Wentworth and Justin Wentworth, both of Windsor Locks, Conn.; many nieces and nephews. Services of remembrance will be held 11 a.m., Monday, Jan. 31, 2005, at Jordan-Fernald, 1139 Main St., Mount Desert. Spring interment will be at Mt. View Cemetery, Town Hill.
