BROOKSVILLE, Fla., and ELLSWORTH – James C. Edgerly, 93, died Oct. 4, 2007, at a Springfield, Fla., hospital. He was born Dec. 9, 1913, in Hastings, the son of Hughbert Roy and Agnes May (Cutting) Edgerly. Jim attended Brighton Schools and graduated from Ellsworth High School in 1932. He was a member of the National Veterans of Foreign War, the American Legion, and the United Baptist Church of Ellsworth. He is survived by two sons, James C. Edgerly Jr. and wife, Jeanne, of North Carolina and Phillip Edgerly and wife, Ingrid, of Alaska; sister, Ruth D. Calhoune of Indiana; and 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his wife of 54 years, Lila (Anderson) Edgerly; five sisters and three brothers. Calling hours will be held 5:30-7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, with a Masonic service held AT 6:30 p.m. at Jordan-Fernald, 113 Franklin St., Ellsworth, where a funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16.
