GREENVILLE – James E. McIver, 71, loving husband of Sheila for more than 52 years, died Sept. 2, 2004, at C. A. Dean Hospital after a long illness. He was born March 12, 1933, in Dexter, the son of William G. and Florence (Littlefield) McIver. He graduated from Greenville High School in 1952 and then followed in his father’s footsteps and had a life long career in the meat industry. He retired in April 1996, as the director of Meat Operations with SuperValu in Portland. He lived in Falmouth, Keene, N.H., Cape Elizabeth, and Brewer. He retired to Greenville and Bradenton Fla. He was a member of the UCC Church, where he was a deacon and past president of the Ready Workers. He was a member of Columbia Doric Lodge No. 149 AF & AM and the Anah Temple Shrine. He is survived by his loving wife, Sheila E. (O’Brien) McIver; son, Richard C. McIver and wife, Jennifer, of Swanzey, N.H.; one daughter, Laurianne L. Senecal of Virginia Beach, Va.; two sisters, Julia Luce of Machias, Mercedes (Duddy) Blanchard and husband, “Doc”, of Greenville; six grandchildren, Jamie and Scott Senecal of Virginia Beach, Va., Crystal Hevener of Cary, N.C., twins, Jamie and Jessica McIver of Naples, William McIver of Swanzey, N.H., many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by son, Jamie McIver Jr.; two brothers, Omar McIver of Greenville and William F. McIver of Sangerville. Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Monday, Sept. 6, at McCrory Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 7, at the UCC church with burial following at the Greenville Cemetery. A reception by the Ready Workers of the UCC church will follow at the Community House. Donations in Jim’s memory may be made to the UCC Church or C.A Dean Hospital.
