BROOKSVILLE – James E. Peasley Sr., 80, died after a long battle with cancer, Dec. 26, 2006, at a Blue Hill hospital. He was born July 18, 1926, in Brooksville, the son of Maurice L. and Dorothy L. (Fowler) Peasley. James was an avid hunter and fisherman. He worked as a Maine guide, carpenter, clam digger and commercial fisherman, doing anything that was required to support his family in the early years. He ran the Bagaduce Lunch Stand for more than 30 years with his loving wife of 53 years, Evan-geline. James was a friend of Bill W. and a member of Ira Berry Lodge, Blue Hill. He resided his entire life in Brooks-ville, except for his time in the Air Force as a radio operator. He is survived by five children, James Jr. and wife, Freida, Greg and wife, Kitty, Frank and wife, Tonyia, all of Brooksville, Jinnie and husband, Bill Perkins, Judy and husband, Michael Astbury, both of Penobscot; two sisters, Marilyn Lymburner and husband, Francis, of Brooksville, Norma Adam and husband, Joe, of Silver Springs, Md.; brother, Berwyn Peasley and wife, Audrey, of Brooksville; 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, brother, Roger and wife, Evangeline, in 2003. James will be remembered as a beloved grandfather and father. Friends and family are invited to call 5-7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29, at Jordan-Fernald, 141 South St., Blue Hill, where funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 30, with Pastor Dale True officiating.
