AUBURN – Janice E. Willey, 54, the wife of Mr. Gerald E. Willey passed away Nov. 19, 2003, at the Clover Manor following a long illness. She was born April 15, 1949, in Lewiston, a daughter of Kenneth and Dorothy (Payton) Peterson. Janice graduated from Windham High School in 1967. In 1971 she married her beloved husband, Gerald. For many years she worked at One Beacon Insurance Company and retired in September 2001. Throughout her life she enjoyed outside activities, for many years she was a very active bowler and served on several area bowling leagues. She was fond of playing cards, gardening and canning for her family and many friends. Quality family time was her priority and she cherished the time she was able to spend with her loving family. She is survived by her husband, Gerald Willey of Palmyra; two daughters, Erica Lynn DiCentes and husband, Jon, of North Waterboro, Jennifer Dawn Sperdakos and husband, Nicholas, of Windham; two grandchildren, Ethan and Janelle Sperdakos of Windham; her mother, Mrs. Dorothy Peterson of Lewiston; five sisters, Judy Pike of New Auburn, Margaret Malloy of Bath, Karen Peterson of Lewiston, Susan Stevens of Mechanic Falls, Jill Peterson of Scarborough; two brothers, Kenneth Peterson Jr. of Saginaw, Texas, Thomas Peterson of Los Angeles, Calif. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Clover Manor-side 4 and to the Hospice of Maine and their many volunteers. A graveside memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at the Murch Cemetery in Casco.
