Everyone would agree that there was never a dull moment when Jean was in the room. She was full of life and a bundle of energy. No matter the time of day, you could always count on a hot cup of coffee and a fresh baked goodie at her kitchen table. Jean was predeceased by her husband of 49 years, Alvah E. Cousins; two brothers, Roy E. Gibson and Aubrey K. Gibson; and one sister, Christine “Pat Gidney.” She is survived by one daughter, Lynn Dwelley and her husband, Grady, of Machias; mother-in-law, Evelyn Cousins of Calais; sisters-in-law, Florence Turmel and her husband, Helon, of Meddybemps, Shirley Boy and her husband, Donald, of New Jersey, Marion (Hopkins) Gibson of Massachusetts; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Her life would not have been complete without the life-long friendship of two special people, Nancy “Shorty” Carter and Ellen Howe. She also left behind two companions, Ladybugs and Abbey. Jean had a circle of friends that spanned the country. She was especially loved in her daughter’s second home, Texas. She leaves behind a legacy of thoughtfulness, caring and laughter.
