HOULTON, RAYMOND and FLORIDA – Jean Irene (Pryor) MacPherson, 67, passed away Nov. 1, 2004, at a Gainesville hospital. She was born Feb. 24, 1937, at Houlton, the daughter of Randolph and Mamie (Gartley) Pryor. Jean grew up in Houlton, graduating from Houlton High School, Class of 1955. After graduation, she was employed as a bookkeeper at the Houlton Water Company. She married her husband, Andrew in August, 1959. After moving to Windham, she was employed by the Peoples Bank, where her greatest enjoyment was meeting all of her customers. She retired from the bank and eventually they began spending the winters at their home in Ocala, Fla. In early 2003, Jean was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver and in August of that year, she received a liver transplant at the University of Florida Shands Hospital. She never completely recovered from the transplant. She is survived by her husband, two sons, Michael and Dean of Raymond; two special grandchildren, Michael and Lillian; one brother, Larry Pryor and his wife, Colleen; two sisters, Betty DeWitt and her husband, Carl, Shirley Ward and her husband, James; one sister-in-law, Jane MacPherson, all of Houlton; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by her father in 1962; and her mother in 1980. Burial service will be held in Raymond in the spring.
