CHATEAUGAY LAKE, N.Y. Jeanette Grindle Pulsifer, 71, of State Route 374, and formerly of Highland Mills, N.Y., died Thursday, April 5, 2007, at Fletcher Allen Health Care, Burlington, Vt. Born Oct. 3, 1935, in Penobscot, she was the daughter of Basil and Rita (Douglass) Grindle. She married John F. Pulsifer Nov. 27, 1964, in Penobscot. Mrs. Pulsifer taught school in Dexter from 1955 to 1960 and at Franklin Academy, Malone, N.Y., from 1960 to 1965. She was employed as the office manager for Chem-Trol Lawn Service, Florida, N.Y., for 10 years, retiring in 1989. She was a member of the Brainardsville United Methodist Church and started the mitten tree project, which is still active today. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting. She was also a member of the Brainardsville United Methodist Women. Her father predeceased her. Mrs. Pulsifer is survived by her husband of 42 years; her mother of Penobscot; four children, John B. Pulsifer of Highland Mills, N.Y., Nancy Pulsifer and her fianc?, Robert Rock and her twins, Kyle and Kayla Pulsifer, of Dannemora, N.Y., Kevin Pulsifer and his companion, Barbara Gioffre, and her daughter, Kiera Gioffre of Monroe, N.Y., and Karen Morgan and her husband, Raymond and their son, Daniel Morgan of Washingtonville, N.Y. Calling hours were held 9-10 a.m. Saturday, April 7, with a 10 a.m. funeral service at Chateaugay Funeral Home, with the Rev. Joy Shaffer of the Brainardsville United Methodist Church, officiating. Burial took place at Brainardsville Cemetery, Brainardsville, N.Y. Donations in her memory may be made to the Mitten Tree, Brainardsville United Methodist Church or the Chateaugay Rescue. Arrangements were through the Chateaugay Funeral Home.
