VAN BUREN – Jeanne R. Cyr, 65, died unexpectedly June 16, 2005, at a Caribou hospital. She was born April 8, 1940, in Canada, the daughter of Edmund and Laurie (Ouellette) Ruest. She was employed by Bell Telephone in Montreal for a while and then worked for various Van Buren businesses including LeBrun Insurance, A.C. Madore Insurance Agency, Sirois Supply Co., and the Van Buren Housing Authority. For the past 16 years she was employed as an Educational Technician for SAD No. 24 in Van Buren. Jeanne was a member of the Van Buren Firemen’s Auxiliary, a charter member of the Columbiettes, a member of the Evangeline Circle, Daughters of Isabella and the American Legion Auxiliary, Unit 49 of Van Buren. She is survived by her husband of nearly 40 years, James R. Cyr of Van Buren; two sons, Darrell Cyr and his wife, Nicole, of Hermon, and Dwain Cyr of Brewer; two granddaughters, Ashley and Megan Cyr. Relatives and friends may call 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Sunday at the Ouellette-Thibault Funeral Home, 118 High St., Van Buren, and from 9 a.m. until time of service on Monday. A funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Monday at the St. Bruno-St. Remi Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Maine Veterans Cemetery, Caribou.
