ESCONDIDO, Calif. – Jennie Savage Bigger, 92, formerly of Cape Elizabeth, passed away Aug. 26, 2007, at her residence. She was born in Columbia, the daughter of Gilford and Lola (Wallace) Savage. She graduated from Harrington High School, Class of 1933. Jennie was employed by AT&T for several years before her marriage to Sydney Bigger, in 1937. After her marriage, she moved to Meadville, Pa., where she lived until 1998, when she moved back to Maine. She was a member of St. Mark’s United Church of Christ, Cochranton, Pa. She was also a member of the Neason Women’s Club and the Fine Arts Association in Meadville, Pa. She was an avid golfer and played in a local golfing league. She was predeceased by her husband, Sydney Bigger Sr.; brothers, Walter Savage and Raymond Savage; and sisters, Edna Savage, Margaret Belya and Helen Lydon. Survivors include her son, Sydney Bigger Jr. of Escondido, Calif.; sister, Lola Ingersoll of Brunswick; brother, Guy Savage of Yarmouth and one grandson. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, at Mailey Hill Cemetery, Columbia. Arrangements are by Hobbs Funeral Home, South Portland.
