LIBERTY – Joan Audrey (Bartlett) Anderson, 76, died Sept. 20, 2007, at home after a three-year battle with lung cancer. Joan was born Oct. 1, 1930, in Lynn, Mass., the second daughter of John and Dorothy Bartlett. She was educated in Lynn, Mass., schools, graduating in 1949 from English High School, where she was a member of the National Honor Society. She was a student at The Lynn Hospital School of Nursing and graduated in 1951. Joan found employment at Camp Rotary in Massachusetts, where she met her future husband, George Albert Anderson. They were married Sept. 12, 1953, at First Baptist Church, Malden, Mass., and celebrated 53 years of marriage. Joan is survived by son, Robert Anderson of Maine; and daughters, Carol Fitzpatrick and husband, John, of New York, Janice Anderson, Janet Anderson-Murch and husband, Mike, and Laurie Belden and husband, Jason; and son-in-law, Marc Couture, all of Maine; and five grandchildren. Joan is also survived by Robert Bartlett and Dorothy Corporon of Massachusetts and Peter Bartlett of New York. Joan was predeceased by her husband, George; and eldest daughter, Kathy Couture. In respect to her last request, a private family service will be held.
