LINCOLN – Joan F. Whitney, 72, wife of the late Roland Whitney, died March 27, 2005, at a Bangor hospital. She was born Sept. 30, 1932, in Lincoln, the daughter of Angus and Doris (Dickey) McIntyre. In addition to her mother, Doris Norris, of Bangor; she is survived by two sons, Michael of Lincoln and James of Mattawamkeag; a daughter, Elaine Hamilton of Poland Springs; a brother, Edward McIntyre of Virginia; a sister, Shirley Lyons of Bangor; four grandchildren; two great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her long-time companion, Ivan Huntington. In addition to her father and her husband, she was predeceased by a son, Timothy. Graveside services will be held at the Lincoln Cemetery, later in the spring. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be sent to the Kidney Foundation, P.O. Box 1134, Portland, ME 04104.
