BRUNSWICK – Joan G. Spencer, 74, of Baribeau Drive, formerly of Scarborough, died Tuesday, June 26, 2007, at the Mid Coast Senior Health Center. She was born June 20, 1933, in Bangor, a daughter of George and Emma Viola (Webber) Coleman. She attended Brewer schools and graduated from Brewer High School. Joan was employed by the State of Maine for many years where she worked in several different departments, including motor vehicles, transportation, and probation and parole. Prior to this, she worked at Fairchild Semiconductor. Mrs. Spencer was a communicant of St. Margaret’s Church, Old Orchard Beach, and a volunteer for the Ronald McDonald House and the Maine State Music Theater. She also enjoyed bowling in Brunswick and at the Big 20 in Scarborough. She had lived in Brunswick for six years, coming from Scarborough. She was predeceased by a brother, Ronald Coleman. Surviving are her daughters, Barbara Spencer and her husband, Steve Taylor, of Starkville, Miss., Vicki Worthing and her husband, Scott Worthing, of Brunswick, and Patti Spencer-Yost and her husband, Greg Yost, of Freeport; a brother, Thomas Coleman of Dedham; a sister, Ruthie Mullaney of Lucerne; and five grandchildren, Meghann and Daniel Worthing, Connor and Cara Yost, and Wyatt Taylor. Visitation will be 10-11 a.m. Friday at Brackett Funeral Home, 29 Federal St., Brunswick, where a funeral service will be at 11 a.m. with the Rev. Stephen Concannon officiating. Burial will be 4 p.m. Friday at Mount Pleasant Catholic Cemetery, Bangor.
