CARIBOU – Joan O. Hemphill, 62, wife of the late Olin Hemphill died Dec. 14, 2003, at Caribou following a brief illness. She was born in Caribou Nov. 6, 1941, the daughter of John and Celina (Morrow) Doucette. Joan was a member of the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. She is survived by her daughter, Lori Ann Hemphill of Bangor; four brothers, John Doucette Jr., Kenneth and Raymond Doucette, all of Caribou and Norman Doucette of Avoca, N.Y.; three daughters, Evelyn Beardsley, Nancy Doucette and Lorraine Green, all of Caribou; her daughter-in-law, Lori (Loggans) Hemphill of Caribou; four grandchildren, two great-grandchildren, several nieces, and nephews. Joan was predeceased by her husband, Olin in 1978; and by her son, Kirk on Dec. 13, 2003, just 14 hours prior to her death. Friends may call 7-9 p.m. Wednesday, at the Mockler Funeral Home, 24 Reservoir St., Caribou. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 11 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 18, 2003, at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. Interment will be in the Old Holy Rosary Cemetery, with the Rev. Jean-Paul Labrie officiating.
