MILTON MILLS, N.H. – Joan Josephine Bradbury Regis Dalton, 80, died Saturday, Sept. 10, 2005, at the Frisbie Memorial Hospital, after a brief battle with breast cancer. Born Jan. 9, 1925, in Old Town, she was the daughter of the late Col. James E. and Catherine (Bradbury) Regis. Joan married Harry S. Dalton in 1945. Harry predeceased Joan in February of 2001. Joan was a graduate of Higgins Classical Institute and was an Army Cadet Nurse in Boston during World War II. She was known for her green thumb and singing voice. Joan moved to Milton Mills from Stillwater. She was a member of Liberty Chapel Congregational Church in Milton Mills. Joan was very active in clubs in Maine, Penobscot Women’s Club, Order of the Eastern Star, a 50-year member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and a 25-year member of the Penobscot Valley Chapter of the Sweet Adelines. Members of her family include her son, James Regis Dalton and his wife, Kerry, of Greenbush; Catherine G. Fisher and husband, Benjamin, of Milton Mills, N.H.; grandchildren, Jason Zelinski, Jessica Delisle, Sarah Zelinski, Aaron Dalton, Chloe Good; and her great-grandchildren, Lyla Good and Sequoya Regis. There are no calling hours. A memorial service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 15, in the chapel of the R. M Edgerly & Son Funeral Home, 86 South Main St., Rochester, N.H. Burial will take place in the Lawndale Cemetery, Old Town, at a later date.
