BANGOR and DOVER-FOXCROFT – JoAnn C. Easton, 76, died March 8, 2008, at her home, with her family by her side. She was born May 24, 1931, in Milo, the daughter of Walter S. and Virginia (Buck) Chase. JoAnn graduated from Milo High School, Class of 1948 and Gorham State Teacher’s College, Class of 1950. JoAnn later attended the University of Maine and graduated in 1970. Although a schoolteacher, antique dealer and appraiser, she most valued being the mother of five children and grandmother of 11. In 1975, JoAnn married John L. Easton Jr. JoAnn was especially fond of her bridge playing friends, the Milo coffee group that were so meaningful after her move to Bangor and the friends with whom she kept close contact in Dover-Foxcroft. Surviving are five children, Geoffrey H. Gordon and his wife, Linda, of Johnson City, Tenn.; Thomas R. Gordon and his wife, Verne, of Ithaca, N.Y., Deborah A. Grimmig and her husband, Joseph, of Winthrop, Ginny J. Peabody and her husband, Randall, of Bangor, and Peter C. Gordon and his wife, Laura, of Scarborough; step-daughter, Pamela Easton; grandchildren, Melissa Gordon, Brandon Gordon, Lauren Gordon, Larkin Gordon, Joanna Gordon, Graydon Gordon, Bethany Grimmig, Nathan Peabody, Sean Gordon, Molly Gordon and Sarah Gordon; three great-grandchildren, Kailee, Lauryn and Issac; and her special cat, Vixen. JoAnn was predeceased by her husband, John, in 1998; and one brother, Walter B. “Butch” Chase, in 2002. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 2-5 p.m. Saturday, March 15, at Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor.
