CORINTH – Joanne B. Cushman, 73, wife of the late Donald C. Cushman, passed away Oct. 29, 2005, from complications of a stroke and other illnesses. She was born Dec. 19, 1932, in Brewer, the daughter of Joyce and Donald Jones. Joanne attended local schools and tried several careers before retiring from Canteen Service of Bangor. She was a past member of the West Corinth Community Club and the Powerline Prowlers Snowmobile Club of Corinth. Joanne enjoyed playing cards, reading, crossword puzzles and also her trips to Atlantic City and Foxwoods with her daughters and friends. She also enjoyed watching figure skating and going to “Stars on Ice” shows in Portland and going on mystery rides with Susie and Bea. She is survived by two daughters, Susanne and her husband, Bernard “Sonny” Bickford, of Corinth, Kimberly Cushman of Eddington; one son, Donald A. Cushman of Corinth; a sister, Linda Jenkins of Brewer; a brother, Daniel Jones and his wife, Vicky, of Holden; four stepdaughters and their families; an uncle, James Whidden of Orland; several nieces and one nephew and their families; many cousins; and her dog, “Miss Ricki”. “Grammie Jo” will be sadly missed by Scott, Kim and their son, Nicholas, of Berwick and Sharon and her son, Ryan, of Milton, N.H. The family would like to extend a special thank you to her caregiver, Cindi Partridge of Glenburn. Joanne was predeceased by her husband, Donald, in 1992; her parents and a special friend, “Bea” Bickford in 2005. She will be missed by her many friends and family. The family invites relatives and friends to share conversation and refreshments 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, at the Brookings-Smith Family Center, 163 Center St., Bangor. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m. Thursday at Corinthian Cemetery, Corinth, with the Rev. Lloyd Rozelle, officiating.
