CONCORD, N.H. – John A. Dean, 45, died Sunday, March 14, 2004, at his home. Born on Sept. 6, 1958, in Milo, the son of Leslie and Margaret (Teale) Dean, he has lived in the Concord, N.H., area for the past 18 years, coming from Milo. After graduating from high school, John joined the U.S. Army retiring just recently after 25 years. He served with the 619th reserve unit of Auburn in the Gulf War in the early 1990s. After retirement from the Army, John worked as a stock handler for Public Service of New Hampshire. John was an avid NASCAR fan and enjoyed going to local races at Star speedway and Hudson speedway having often taken part in the spectators’ race. He also enjoyed doing automotive projects and going to the Amherst swap meet on Sundays. He also enjoyed his dogs, Logan and Yonah. He is survived by his parents of Milo; his wife, Lisa Dean of Concord, N.H.; three sons, Corey Smith of Concord, N.H., Christopher Brown of Watertown, N.Y., and Jason Dean of Milo; a sister, Ellen Murray of Bangor; and two nephews, Gordon and Andrew Robinson, both of New Hampshire. There will be no calling hours. Memorial services will be held 1 p.m. Wednesday, March 17, at the Wendell J. Butt Funeral Home, 42 Washington St., Penacook, NH 03303. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society New England Division, 30 Speen St., Framingham, MA 01701.
