ORONO – John A. Morrison, 70, died Feb. 17, 2007, at a Bangor hospital after a brief illness. He was born Dec. 7, 1936, in Orono, the son of George and Mary (Thorne) Morrison. John is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Shirley (Guay) Morrison of Orono; three daughters and their husbands, Gayle and Don Mashaw of Daytona Beach, Fla., Dawn and Richard Watts of Northfield, N.H., and Bonnie and Tim Grant of Gray; three sisters, Gladys Kilby of Howland, Ruth and her husband, Bud Perkins, of West Grove, Pa., and Rose Marie and her husband, Jim Oliver, of Corona, Calif.; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; a very special niece, Carole and her husband, Aubrey Hoyle; and nephew, Jim Robichaud and his wife, Judi. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by six sisters and two brothers. Friends may call 2-4 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 22, at Brookings-Smith, LaBeau Chapel, 72 Main St., Orono.
