SEDGWICK – John A. Tapley Sr., 74, died Thursday, April 14, 2005, at home in Sedgwick. He was born May 16, 1930, in Castine, the son of William R. And Velma (Hawes) Tapley. His greatest joys were his horse, Maude; his children, grandchildren, and talking on the phone to Frank almost every night. John is survived by his wife of 49 years, Elaine Tapley; a son, John Tapley Jr.; daughters, Deane Marshall, Karen Tapley, Charlotte Dionne; six grandchildren, Marsha Pinkham, Markie Pinkham, Heather Tapley, Sarah Tapley, Bethany Dionne and Johnathan Dionne; two great-grandchildren, special neighbors and friends who were always there for him, Michelle and Frank Tuttle; sister, Ethel Tandy; two brothers, Robert and Paul Tapley. He was predeceased by a brother, William Tapley. Expression of sympathy in memory of John are asked to consider donations to Elaine Tapley, RR 1 Box 5027, Sedgwick, ME 04476. A graveside service will be noon Sunday, April 24, 2005, at Mt. Rest Cemetery in Brooksville. Arrangements by Acadia Burial and Cremation Direct, Ellsworth.
