KENDUSKEAG – John D. Stymiest Jr., 66, died Aug. 14, 2004, at his residence after a short illness. He was born Sept. 24, 1937, in Brewer, the son of John and Tillie (Allum) Stymiest Sr. He worked most of his life as an auto body repairman and painter and was a member of the Maine Harness Horseman’s Association. He raced cars at the Exeter and Unity tracks and at Speedway 95 for many years and greatly enjoyed fishing and camping up north with his family and friends. He is survived by three sons, Scott of Kenduskeag, Robert and his wife, Shaun, of Corinth and Ricky and his fianc?e, Melinda of Newburgh; three brothers, Kenneth of Dexter, William and his wife, Carolyn of Corinth and Peter and his wife, Sandra, of Ohio; five sister, Georgia McLain and her husband, Donald, of Newburgh, Evelyn Daniels and her husband, Phillip of Corinth, Linda McKenna of Levant, Glenda McKenna and her husband, Edward, of Hampden and Donna Ross and her friend, Leslie Douglas of Corinth; three grandchildren, Erica Lindsey and Aaron; several nieces, nephews, and many friends. Danny was also survived by his ex-wife, Norma (Houston) Stymiest. He was predeceased by two brothers, Alan and Gary; and two sisters, Carolyn and Sharon. Graveside memorial services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Waugh Cemetery, Levant, with Pastor Garnett Chute officiating. Cremation arrangements are by Thompson Funeral Home, 17 Hudson Road, Corinth.
