ELLSWORTH – John Dunn, beloved husband of Lois A. Dunn, died Nov. 6, 2006, at his home. John was born Sept. 15, 1944, in Winterville, the son of Theodore and Gertrude Dunn. He graduated from Presque Isle High School in 1963. Throughout his working career, John dedicated his efforts to the advancement and betterment of the Maine communities which he served. He was the code enforcement officer for the towns of Verona and Bucksport and through June, 2004, was the code enforcement officer for the City of Ellsworth for 16 years. John is survived by his wife, Lois of Ellsworth; sons, Chad Dunn of Houston and Todd Dunn and wife, Stacey, of Navarre, Fla.; brother, Patrick J. Dunn and his wife, Lucille, of Sevierville, Tenn.; brother, James Dunn of Presque Isle; brother, Gordon Dunn and wife, Paula, of Hampden; sister, Bernice Schaaf of Plantsville, Conn.; sister, Pearl Paradis and partner, Harvey Austin, of Rome; sister, Gertrude Wyscarver and husband, Farrel, of Mesa, Ariz.; stepchildren, Michael and Michelle Constantine; and grandchildren, Zachary, Kylie, Lexi, Amber, Kianna, Alexis and Jack. John was predeceased by his parents; and his brother, Kenneth. At John’s request there will be no funeral services and in lieu of flowers or donations, John has asked that you do something kind for someone. A memorial service will be scheduled next year.
