JOHN H. GARDNER SMYRNA and JONESBORO Ga. – John H. Gardner, 81, died Jan. 19, 2005. He was born on May 25, 1923, in Merrill, the son of Leroy and Nancy Gardner. He attended local schools and enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in 1942. He met and married Anna in Jonesboro, Ga. In addition to his wife of Jonesboro Ga., he is survived by two daughters, Patricia Homd and Delores Elle; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; three sisters, Sophrona Gardner of Houlton, Eloise Lelampffer of Philiadelphia, Penn., and Mattie Simpson of Hampden.
