CHINO VALLEY, Ariz., and PATTEN – John Halbert Noyes, 63, passed away unexpectedly April 19, 2007, at Yavapai Regional Medical Center, Prescott, Ariz. John was born April 30, 1943, in Island Falls. John was retired from the Bangor and Aroostook Railroad, from which he was a conductor for many years. John for-filled a lifelong dream to live in Arizona 14 years ago. He married the love of his life, Linda Bazer, 13 years ago, on horseback in Tombstone, Ariz. John will always be remembered in the Patten area for the beautiful signs he painted and the lettering he so masterfully did on many trucks, motorcycles, and cars. He loved racing boats, motorcycles, his guns, reloading ammo, cooking, sharp shooting, painting, building furniture, and telling stories. He was predeceased by his parents, Orville and Hermye Noyes; an infant sister, Pansy; sister, Frances Anderson and her husband, Earl; and two nephews, Forrest Anderson and Roger Sanders. John is survived by his loving wife of 13 years, Linda Bazer; an only child, Kimberly Hopple and her significant other, Lee Koenig; three grandchildren, Brad, Shelby and D.J. Hopple; his first wife of 20 years and mother of Kimberly, Verna Boone; a stepson, Johnny Rohrbough; two stepdaughters, Michelle Mauk and Gail More; nieces, Filena Singer and Fonda Anderson; nephews, Fleetwood, Fulton, Dwight, Dwinal, Sheldon, Steven and Stacy Anderson, and LeRoy “Poochie” Barrows, several great-nieces and great-nephews. Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 24, at Chino Valley Funeral Home Chapel, Chino Valley, Ariz. Donations in John’s memory may be made to The United Methodist Church, Patten, ME 04765.
