LINNEUS – John Harold Logie, 73, loving husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, died May 20, 2008, surrounded by his family, at home, after a short illness. He was born Oct. 14, 1934, in Houlton, the son of Carl and Thelma (Adams) Logie. He was a graduate of Ricker Classical Institute, Class of 1953. He worked for B&A Railroad for 40 years, and was a member of Linneus Freewill Baptist Church, where he served as deacon. He enjoyed camping, attending the Fryeburg Fair with Kay and Dean, and spending time at camp. He survived by his wife of 51 years, Elaine (Duley) of Linneus; children, Rhonda Logie of Bangor, Carl Logie of Linneus, and Cheryl Harmon of Standish; grandchildren, William J., Eric, Heather, Kelly, Rudi and Devon; great-granddaughter, Aurora; brother, Donald Logie of Front Royal, Va.; sister, Kathryn McGinnis of Linneus; several nieces, nephews, cousins and many close friends. He was predeceased by his parents; and two sisters, Marjorie Ahlers and Ruth Hall. The family thanks Hospice of Aroostook and the members of Linneus Freewill Baptist Church for their help and prayers. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, May 22, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. Friday with the Rev. Rick Murray officiating.
