EMPORIA, Va. – John J. Quinn died Wednesday, Jan. 30, 2008. Mr. Quinn was a Vietnam War veteran of the U.S. Air Force and retired as a master sergeant after 26 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Hobbs Quinn; one daughter, Robin Hodges and husband, Barry, of New Jersey; three sons, Joseph Quinn and wife, Sandy, also of New Jersey, Dennis Quinn and wife, Amber, of North Carolina, and Jay Quinn and wife, Angela, of Virginia; two stepchildren, Tony Moore of Emporia, Va., and Angela Moore-Lobach and husband, Eric, of Newport News, Va.; nine grandchildren, Jackie Hodges, Justine Hodges, Aubrey-Anna Quinn, Taylor Quinn, Anthony Azevedo, Collin Butler, Abbey Quinn, Victor Moore and Zachary Moore; one sister, Betty Jo Zeno of New Jersey; special friend and neighbor, Bootsie Spence; and two beloved canine companions, Dutchess and Turbo. A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 2, at Owen Funeral Home, Jarratt, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be made to the American Cancer Society.
