DEXTER – John L. Sokoloski Sr., 47, died Jan. 5, 2004, at a Boston, Mass., hospital. He was born May 2, 1956, at Hartford, Conn., a son of George and Lorraine (Stanhope) Sokoloski. After moving to Maine, he was employed at Irving Tanning Company in Hartland, retiring due to failing health. He is survived by his wife, Laurie (Claes) Sokoloski of Dexter; her four children, Erin, Anthony, Ashley and Brennan; his dear friend and previous wife, Rosie Sokoloski, and their children, Angela, John Jr. and Ted, all of Dexter; four brothers, George, Ralph, Nicholas, and Ronald; four sisters, Nancy Toce, Sandra Ferraro, Gail Reilly and Lori Treadwell. Friends may call 12-2 p.m. Saturday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 61 Main St., Dexter. A graveside committal service will be held in the spring at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Dexter, with Pastor A.
