LINCOLN- Johnny Mason, 87, died Sept. 14, 2005, at Colonial Healthcare, Lincoln, after a short illness. He was born Feb. 16, 1918, in Bangor, the son of John W. and Adelia (Vail) Mason. He worked as a millwright and was a member of Local Union 1996. He was a 40-year member of Horeb Lodge No. 93 AF & AM. He was also a member of the Lincoln Snowhounds Club and the Enfield Baptist Church. Johnny is survived by his wife of 65 years, Hazel (Gray) Mason; a daughter and son-in-law, Sandra and Richard Averill of Veazie; a son and daughter-in-law, Ronald and Loretta Mason of Bangor; grandchildren, Andrea Cope, Van Averill, Cathy Schulz, Tammy MacEachern, John Mason and Jennie Asher; great-grand-sons, Charles, Thomas and James Cope, Philip and Dustin Averill, Jeffery and Wyatt Schulz, Kevin Lemieux and Kyle Mason; a sister, Charlotte Ryder of Lincoln; several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a son, Lloyd; three brothers, Malcom, twin brother, Clayton, and Philip; sisters, Norma, Claudia, Annie and Kathleen. At the request of the deceased there will be no visiting hours or funeral. Burial will be in the Enfield Village Cemetery. Arrangements are with Clay Funeral Home, 7 Lee Rd., Lincoln.
