EASTON – Jon D. “Bum” Fowler, 51, died unexpectedly Dec. 20, 2007, in the arms of his wife, at his home. He was born Nov. 4, 1956, in Tripoli, Lybia, the son of LeRoy “Pat” and Rolinda (Hathaway) Fowler. He was a loving son, husband, father, grandfather and friend. Jon retired from the U.S. Air Force at Loring Air Force Base after 20 years of service. He had worked at Maine Public Service, Presque Isle, for 11 years as a desktop administrator in the IT Department. He is survived by his mother, Rolinda Fowler of Easton; his wife, Robin (Edwards) Fowler of Easton; a daughter, Carrie Matheson and her husband, Jason, of Caribou; a stepdaughter, Rinde Hamlin of Mapleton; two grandsons, Brandyn and Kameryn Matheson of Caribou; and two stepgrandchildren, Ethan and Mason of Mapleton. A casual memorial service will be held 2 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, at the Maine Public Service Operations Building, 10 Parkhurst Siding Road, Presque Isle. A military committal service will be held 1 p.m. Monday, Dec. 31, at the Maine Veterans’ Cemetery, Caribou. Jon faithfully donated blood to the American Red Cross.
