LINNEUS – Joseph B. Siltz Jr. died Feb. 20, 2008, in Houlton. He was born Jan. 28, 1931, in Mal-one, N.Y., the son of Joseph and Minnie (Newton) Siltz. He was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and held the rank of staff sergeant. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Margaret (McGary) Siltz of Linneus; two sons, Richard and his wife, Marcia Siltz, of West Paris and Joseph and his wife, Susan Siltz, of Virginia; four daughters, Susan and her husband, Stephan Bair, of Arizona, Penny and her husband, Rick Preston, of Florida, Tammy and her husband, Jeff Folsom, of Missouri and Careen and her husband, Dean Merritt, of Houlton; 19 grandchildren, 14 great-grand-children; two sisters, Barbara Hull and Gloria Sexton, both of New York; several nieces and nephews; and his best friend, who was also his grandson, Devin Faulkner. He was predeceased by his parents; one brother, Gerald; and one sister, Evelyn Baldwin. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 24, at Bowers Funeral Home, 10 Water St., Houlton, where funeral services will be held 2 p.m. with Pastor Kevin Hatch officiating. Spring interment will be held at Linneus Cemetery.
