WESTMORELAND – Joseph H. O’Leary, 89, of Skinner Road, died Tuesday, Aug. 29, 2006, at Faxton-St. Luke’s hospital. He was born in St. John, a son of John and Isabelle Jackson O’Leary. He was drafted into World War II and served in the U.S. Army. On June 30, 1945, Joseph was united in marriage to Betty Bratley in South Kirby, England. Mrs. O’Leary died May 14, 1990. Joe worked for the Federal Aviation Administration at Oneida County Airport for many years before his retirement. He was a member of the Clinton-Hampton Masonic Lodge No. 347 and was active with the Shriners. He enjoyed many hobbies including camping, astronomy and constructing rock walls at his home. He is survived by two sons and a daughter-in-law, Keith and Margo O’Leary of New Castle and Patrick O’Leary of Westmoreland; five grandchildren, Christopher, Sommer, Matthew, Molly and Cassie O’Leary; two great-grand-children; three sisters, Maggie McBreaitty, Patty McBreaitty and Marianne Jackson; a brother, Jimmy O’Leary; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two sons, John and Michael; two brothers, Dave O’Leary and Glenn O’Leary; and a sister, Ella Campbell. Funeral services will be held 1 p.m. Friday, Sept. 8, at the St. John Bible Church, with Pastor Mary Ruggerio officiating. Burial with military honors will be held after the service in St. John Bible Cemetery, St. John. Funeral services are being conducted by the Daigle & Nadeau Funeral Home, Fort Kent. Those who wish may donate to the American Heart Association.
