ST. AGATHA – Joseph Manuel Cyr, 72, died Jan. 22, 2006, at a Fort Kent hospital. He was born in St. David, March 3, 1933, the son of Donat F. and Eva (Sirois) Cyr. He served in the U.S. Army and retired after 22 years. He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam Wars. He was a member of the American Legion Post 145 of Frenchville. He is survived by the love of his life of 47 years, Juliette “Julie” (Plourde) Cyr and his faithful little dog, Pomette; three brothers, Clarence D. of Madawaska, Reed of Kensington, Conn. and Ned of Jensen Beach, Fla.; several nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, 2006, at the St. Agatha Catholic Church, with the Rev. Phil Cyr officiating. Burial will be in St. Thomas Cemetery, Madawaska in the spring. For those who desire, donations may be made to the Edgar Paradis Cancer Fund and the St. Agatha Fuel Fund.
