PRESQUE ISLE- Joseph N. Talbot, 72, died Aug. 26, 2004. He was born Dec. 23, 1931, in Fall River, Mass., the son of Emery and Loretta (Alix) Talbot. Joe was a loving father, grandfather and husband to his devoted wife Barbara, of 52 years. As a young man he came to Aroostook County to serve his country at the Presque Isle Air Force Base. It was there that he met the love of his life. Upon finishing his military commitment, he enrolled at University of Rhode Island College of Pharmacy, where he graduated Suma Cum Laude. He returned to Aroostook County where he raised his four children and entered into his second greatest love, his business and profession. His first love, being his family and friends. Throughout his business career he received numerous awards and recognition for his dedication to pharmacy nationally and in the state of Maine. He was devoted to his customers and community. His generosity was expressed in many ways. He enjoyed traveling, golfing and spending quality time with his family and friends. He will be sorely missed by those whose life he touched. He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Thompson) Talbot of Presque Isle; a daughter, Debra Talbot McGivern and her husband, Dennis, of Merrimack, N.H.; a son, Michael J. Talbot and his wife, Judy, of Hudson, Ohio, a son, Douglas T. Talbot and his wife, Theresa of Presque Isle; and a daughter, Maureen Talbot McMullin and her husband, Tim, of Scarborough; nine grandchildren, Kelly, Ryan, and Meagan McGivern, Barry Comeau, Christopher, Sean, McKenzie and Matthew Talbot and Cameron McMullin; a sister, Lorraine Peloquin of Port Lucie, Fla., and several nieces and nephews. Predeceasing him was a sister, Anita Forestal. Relatives and friends may call 6-8 p.m. Sunday, at the Duncan-Graves Funeral Home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Monday, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church on Main Street in Presque Isle, with the Rev. Fred Irving officiating. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to the Joseph N. Talbot Family Scholarship Fund. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
