CARIBOU – Joseph “Bumpy” Putnam Sr., 78, died March 25, 2008, in Van Buren. He was born March 28, 1929, in Presque Isle, the son of Charles and Gladys (Bushey) Putnam. Mr Putnam was employed as a farm foreman for many years. He is survived by his wife, Betty (Kierstead) Putnam of Caribou; three sons, Timothy Putnam of Bath, and Joey and Gary Putnam, both of Caribou; four daughters, Barb Putnam of Eagle Lake, Pam Dyer, Sherrie Weaver and Darcy Putnam, all of Presque Isle; two stepsons, Robert Long of Maryland and Scott Long of Caribou; one stepdaughter, Mechelle MacDonald of Masardis; two brothers, Charles Putnam of Mapleton and Donald Putnam of Presque Isle; one sister, Priscilla Fitzherbert of Presque Isle; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
