FORT FAIRFIELD – Judy S. Foster, 63, wife of Kipp B. Foster, passed away Wednesday afternoon, March 12, 2008, surrounded by her family, at a Presque Isle health care facility, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born Sept. 13, 1944, in Fort Fairfield, the daughter of Joseph Clayton and Mary (Boulier) Shaw. Judy was a member of the Fort Fairfield High School graduating, Class of 1962 and was married to Kipp B. Foster, Aug. 11, 1962. She had been employed by Cozy Corners, Fort Fairfield, for 15 years, until her retirement in January 2007, and was a member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, Fort Fairfield. Judy was a dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her father, Joseph C. Shaw; one brother, Richard C. Shaw; and one sister, Christine Merrithew. Judy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Kipp B. Foster of Fort Fairfield; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beth and Jeff Lavway of Mapleton and Heidi and Doug Churchill of Fort Fairfield; her mother, Mary (Boulier) Shaw; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Jill Shaw, all of Fort Fairfield; four sisters and brothers-in-law, Joyce and George Milbury and Alice McCarthy, all of Bristol, Conn., Mary and Alfred Giberson of Presque Isle and Carolyn and Floyd Adams of Limestone; two grandchildren, Josh and Savannah Churchill, both of Fort Fairfield; numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be conducted 11 a.m. Tuesday, March 18, at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 Main St., Fort Fairfield, with the Rev. Dr. Robert Smith officiating. Spring interment will take place at Riverside Cemetery, Fort Fairfield. A time of continued fellowship with refreshments will be held immediately after the memorial service at VFW Paul Lockhart Post No. 6187, Presque Isle Street, Fort Fairfield. In lieu of flowers, those who wish may contribute in memory of Judy to Ronald McDonald House, Our House of Maine, Inc., 654 State St., Bangor, ME 04402-0404 or to a charity or organization of one’s choice. Envelopes will be available at the church. Arrangements are in the care of Giberson-Dorsey Funeral Home, 144 Main St., Fort Fairfield.
