PLYMOUTH – Julia H. (Giggey) Huff, 83, died March 16, 2004, at a Pittsfield hospital after a long illness. She was born in Corinna, Sept. 21, 1920. She was the daughter of Elmer and Hazel (McGuire) Shorey. Julia attended Newport High School. For several years she worked in local woolen mills. She also was employed in several local food stores as cashier and manager. For several years she worked at the Highway Superette and at the Corner Store in Newport. For the past several years Julia had enjoyed meeting with friends at the Mobil and at Dunkin Donuts in Newport. She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Clorita and Delmont Howell of Dixmont, Sherry and Earl Levesque of Springfield, Mo.; two brothers, Richard Shorey of Illinois, Keith Shorey of Newport; two sisters, Phyllis Marois, Elaine Plummer, both of Florida; eight grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was predeceased by three brothers, Buss, Gerald. Friends may call 6-8 p.m. Thursday, March 18, 2004, at the Brown Funeral Home, 34 High St., Newport, where funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Friday, March 19, 2004, with Pastor Lewis Bell officiating.
