She graduated from Wheeling High School in 1939 and Eliot School of Business. While working at Wheeling Electric Co., she met her future husband at a coffee shop on Valentine’s Day in 1942. She and Crawford were married Nov. 28, 1942, in Corsicana, Texas, while he was a pilot stationed at Major Field. After the end of World War II, they relocated to Bangor to join the family business. In 1990, she and Crawford retired to Port St. Lucie, Fla., and lived at St. Lucie West Country Club where Kathleen was an auxiliary member of the Retired Offices Association – TROA. Kathleen and Crawford found joy in entertaining their family and friends; they both took pride in Kathleen’s beautifully decorated homes and she was always elegantly dressed to the nines! Throughout her journey with Alzheimer’s and with the support of her family, friends, professional and caring caregivers at Westgate Manor, and the compassionate Beacon Hope caregivers, she was able to participate in life’s daily activities with dignity and grace.
