HERMON – Kathleen Elaine LaRochelle, 73, died Oct. 25, 2003, at a Bangor hospital. She was born July 10, 1930, in Carmel, the daughter of Augustave and Bertha (Hill) Richardson. Kathleen enjoyed completing the Bangor Daily News crossword puzzles and you could find the paper folded right to that section. She worked with her husband for many years at her brother’s restaurant, the Boom Chain Restaurant in Greenville. Kathleen also enjoyed traveling and shopping. Although being on the water was not a passion in her early years she found a way to enjoy fishing with her close friend, Stanley Garland, in her later years. She will be especially missed by her beloved sister, Tracy, who thought of her not only as a sister, but also as a mother and friend. More than anything, she loved her family, her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She is survived by a son, Barry LaRochelle and wife, Jean, of Carmel; a daughter, Virginia Sewall and husband, Schuyler, of Benton, Pa.; five brothers, Clement Richardson and wife, Diane, of Carmel, Earl Richardson and wife, Avis, of Greenville, Dale Richardson of Georgia, Wayne Richardson of Vermont, Gerald “Jerry” Richardson of Plymouth; a sister, Tracy Waning and husband, Richard, of Carmel; four grandchildren, Shanan Johnston and husband, Greg, David Sewall and wife, Renee, Joseph LaRochelle and wife, Barbara, and Katie Sewall; four great-grandchildren, Jordan, Brady, Trent, and Joseph; and a close friend, Stanley Garland of Hermon. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Maurice “Mouse” LaRochelle, in 1982; and by a sister, Virginia Richardson. Friends are invited to meet with the family from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 28, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor, where funeral services will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday, Oct. 29, with the Rev. Dr. Rex Garrett, Director of Chaplaincy Services at EMMC, officiating. Interment will be at Highland Cemetery, Carmel, following the services.
