ABBOT – Kathleen M. Hanscome, 88, died Jan. 5, 2004, at a Dover-Foxcroft nursing home. She was born Oct. 26, 1915, in Woodville, daughter of William and Lydia (Carle) Reardon. She worked for the SAD No. 4 lunch program for many years and would be known to many young people as Aunt Kay. She was predeceased by her husband, Clair E. Hanscome. She is survived by a son and his wife, Frank and Susan Hanscome of Arizona; a daughter and her husband, Linda and Donald Vose of E. Machias; three grandsons and their wives, Kenneth and Lynette Hanscome of Guilford, Charles and Heather Vose of E. Machias and Darin and Sarah Hanscome of Ripley; five great-grandchildren, Lacie, Logan, Joshua, Matthew, and Micah; a sister, Sib Blethen of Guilford; a brother and his wife, Berl and Ethel Reardon of Guilford; nieces and nephews. Friends may call 5-7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8, 2004, at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 21 Oak St., Guilford. A Memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home with Pastor Ray Beless officiating. Spring burial will be in the Powers Yard Cemetery in Pittsfield. In lieu of flowers, who wish may make donations to Mayo Regional Hospital Development Office, 897 W. Main St., Dover-Foxcroft, ME 04426. Donations are going to be used for the Oncology Department.
