BANGOR – Kathleen M. Bryce, 94, died Dec. 17, 2005, at a Bangor healthcare center, after a long illness. She was born March 30, 1911, in Chatham, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of John and Catherine (Cripps) Bryce. Kathleen attended schools in Chatham and graduated from Bangor High School, Class of 1931. She was employed as a sales clerk for the F.W. Woolworth Company for 37 years, (1937-1972). She was a life-time member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, a former member of St. Mary’s Sodality and a member of the Foster Grandparent’s Program at the Hilltop School for 17 years, (1978-1995). She is survived by two sisters-in-law, Loraine Bryce of Hermon, with whom she lived for a period of time; Irene Bryce of Brewer, with whom she shared many fond memories. Also, surviving are several nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews; a very dear friend from elementary school, Margaret T. Ruhlin of Concord, N.H. Kathleen was predeceased by her five brothers, Arthur, Burton, Frank, Jack and Bill; and two sisters, Sally Cassidy and Nora Coleman; nephew, Paul Coleman; and niece, Connie (Coleman) Flanagan. Kathleen was a very special person, although she never married nor had any children. She will be remembered for the special love she shared with her nieces and nephews. She was a second mother and Santa to them. She was a woman who would give all she had and expected nothing in return. She will be sadly missed by all. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, Bangor with the Rev. Thomas Lequin, pastor celebrant. Relatives and friends are welcome to call 9-9:45 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 20, at Brookings-Smith, 133 Center St., Bangor. Interment will be in the family lot at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Gifts in her memory may be sent to St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 768 Ohio St., Bangor.
