BELFAST – Kathryn C. Gallagher, 59, died Nov. 29, 2006, at a local hospital. She was born Nov. 27, 1947, in Washington, D.C., daughter of Theodore and Margaret (Burke) Cuevas. Kathryn worked as a systems coordinator for the Veterans’ Administration at Togus, where she took early retirement in 2003. She loved making a home for her family, feeding the birds, squirrels and chipmunks in her yard, and enjoyed creating a garden for the wildlife to enjoy. Her favorite pastime was reading, which she shared with others in a book club locally. She was a founding member of Hollings-worth Center, which focused on highly gifted children. Kathryn is survived by her husband of 36 years, Raymond A. Gallagher of Belfast; two daughters, Stephanie Lyn Gallagher of Chelmsford, Mass., and Margaret Elizabeth Gallagher Harrington and husband, Luke, of Belfast; one aunt in Maryland; many cousins and friends. Family and friends are invited to call any time between 11 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 30 through 8:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Gallagher residence, 102 Northport Ave., Belfast. Funeral Mass will be held 9 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 2, at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church, Court Street, Belfast, with Fr. Joseph Koury officiating. Those who wish may make donations in Kathryn’s memory to Waldo County Hospice, P.O. Box 407, Belfast, ME 04915. Arrangements are under the care of Crabiel-Riposta Funeral Home, 182 Waldo Ave., Belfast.
