BREWER – Kathryn M. (Chandler) White passed away March 26, 2008, at a Brewer health care center, after an extended illness. She was born Aug. 14, 1920, in Addison, the daughter of Marion and Henry Chandler. Kathryn was a graduate of Jonesport High School and very proud of her Down East heritage. Kay enjoyed spending winters in Zephyrhills, Fla., for several years. In recent years, she especially enjoyed her bingo outings and friends and family who looked after her, and visited with her often. She was always ready to play cards and loved to challenge anyone to a game of cribbage or Phase 10. She will be missed by her family, which includes her daughter, Judith M. Bean and husband, Curt, of Orrington, and their children, Ryan and his wife, Kim, of Hamden, Conn., and Kacy of Weymouth, Mass.; her son, James H. White and wife, Ency Whitehill, of Orono; grandsons, Rob White, Chad White and wife, Michelle, and Jamie White and wife, Yvette; great-grandchildren, Jessie, Kelsey, Gwen and Brittaney, all of Bangor; her sister, Margaret Smith and husband, Irving, of Orland; brother, Henry Chandler and his wife, Nancy, of Brooksville, Fla.; sister-in-law, Ann Morris and her husband, Chuck, of Rhode Island; daughter-in-law, Dixie White of Darrington, Wash.; as well as many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Howard D. White; son, Dennis H. White; stepson, Robert M. White; and brothers, Albert Chandler and Harvard Chandler. A memorial service will be held noon Saturday, May 17, at Kiley & Foley Funeral Service, 69 State St., Brewer, where family and friends may visit 11 a.m. until the service begins. The Rev. Robert T. Carlson will preside. Burial will be at Woodlawn Cemetery, Brewer. The family thanks the wonderful staff at Brewer Rehabilitation & Living Center for their care and support.
