NEWPORT – Kathy (Booth) Chandler, 46, died June 15, 2004, at a Boston, Mass., hospital following a brief illness. She was born Feb. 19, 1958, at Hartland, a daughter of Oscar and Grace (Fernald) Booth. She graduated from Maine Central Institute in Pittsfield, Class of 1976, and attended the University of Maine at Machias. She worked at the Dexter Shoe Company in Newport, worked in the kitchen at Nokomis Regional High School in Newport, and at the time of her death, was the school lunch director for the Corinna Elementary School. She also operated food service at the Belgrade Boy’s School Camp in the summers, and was to leave for her summer job this week. Kathy will also be remembered as a dedicated mother to her two children. She is survived by her son, Jason Chandler; daughter, Mallory Chandler; ex-husband, Wayne Chandler; and her mother and father-in-law, Charles and Jeannette Chandler, all of Newport; her brothers, Doug and wife, Joanne Tilton, of Palmyra, Gary and wife, Wanda Tilton, of Somerville, Conn., and Perry Booth of Belfast; several aunts, uncles, cousins; and two nieces, Beth Vanderwal, Wendy and Jennifer Tilton; and her special girlfriends. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Friday at the Crosby & Neal Funeral Home, 117 Main St., Newport, where funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, June 19, with Pastor Al H. Worden officiating. Interment will be in the Powers Yard Cemetery, Pittsfield.
